Museum logo awarded

The new home of abstract art in Wiesbaden has not even been built yet, but the logo for the Reinhard Ernst Museum has already won two awards.

First it was a winner at the international Logo Design Awards, hosted by the US design community HOW. In February 2019, its combination of three letters and abstract field was also honored by the eminent Type Directors Club of New York; it was awarded a Certificate of Typographic Excellence at the 65th Communications Design Competition.

The jury included Karin Fong (Imaginary Forces, New York/Los Angeles), Leo Jung (California Sunday Magazine, San Francisco), Eddie Opara (Pentagram, New York), Paulina Reyes (Refinery 29, New York), Ian Spalter (head of design, Instagram), Annik Troxler (University of Art and Design, Basel) and Zipeng Zhu (ZZ Is It, New York).

The logo was created by the design agency Q in Wiesbaden, which is responsible for the museum’s entire corporate identity. You can find further design-related information on the agency’s website.
