Exclusive for the new museum: bronze sculptures by Tony Cragg
Many works of art that will be on display at the Reinhard Ernst Museum are already in the benefactor’s collection. But there are also works that have been specially commissioned for the new building. The internationally celebrated artist Tony Cragg has produced two sculptures for a niche-like room that extends over two levels. The organic-looking objects are welded together from many individual bronze casts and reach a height of over six metres. How is such a work created? In this (German) film we visit Cragg in his studio and find out the steps the object has to go through in Rolf Kayser’s art foundry.
