Construction work, as at December 2019

The construction work for the Reinhard Ernst Museum is proceeding according to schedule. In a few days, the drilling work for creation of the overlapping bored pile wall will be completed; this construction component secures the site and surrounds the excavation pit with a waterproof seal. (In this article the steps involved in the initial construction phase are described in more detail.) In parallel, it was already possible to start excavating up to the first anchorage. All the wells for groundwater management have been created and will go into operation in mid-December. After this, more pit excavation work will take place.

Archaeological experts are accompanying the construction work; they are currently documenting the excavated remains of the walls of the Hotel Victoria. The following photos show cellar fragments of the former spa hotel.
